Mason hits No1 !!!!!!

Mason have hit number 1 in the Beatport chart with the Umek and Mile Vale re-interpretation of their classic Exceeder.

Because of a wager it meant that Iason from act had to hurl himself into a freezing Amsterdam canal. This he managed to do with a certain amount of style and you can see it here: Mason canal jump

This is a Beatport first for both Mason and for Big Fish Little Fish. Long may it continue!!!!

Mason ( almost ) dominates Beatport charts

Mason's re-release of the classic Exceeder has almost made a clean sweep of the Beatport chart.

The track is currently at No.2 in the overall chart and hasn't budged for a week. It is still topping the Tech house genre also.

Despite offering to throw himself into a canal in his native Amsterdam, Mason still can't quite make the No.1 spot.

How very annoying!

Heliotype releases on Love & Other

Balearic Bass producer Heliotype makes his debut on up and coming label Love & Other this week.

The producer behind the massive 'Saying Nothing' ( D.Vision Records) makes his first fully fledged appearance with a new track entitled 'Dub Inside Me'.

The track which is part of a four track EP is another distinctively bottom heavy house record liberally sprinkled with White Island magic.

Mason's Exceeder hits the Beatport chart

The release of new remixes of Mason's classic 'Exceeder' has taken the Beatport charts by storm this week.

Umek and Mike Vale's reinterpretation of the electro house anthem has hit the No.1 spot in Beatport's Tech House chart and is currently riding at No.8 in the overall Beatport chart.

We've decided that we'll throw ourselves in the local canal  if the tune hits the overall No.1 spot, so might be worth buying a copy!

Armada re-release Mason's Exceeder!

Dutch powerhouse Armada have re-released Mason's classic 'Exceeder' this week with a host of new lip smacking remixes.

The remixes feature interpretations by Umek, Corderoy, 2CV, Sonny Wharton and Kill The Buzz and have already been supported by the likes of Hardwell and Mark Knight.

In the meantime Mason are set to release the second single from their album ZOA as well as working with the like of Moonbootica and Sharooz and remixing for Yolanda Be Cool and Worthy.

Mason sign Australian album deal with Central Station

Mason have signed a licensing deal with the Australian indie Central Station for their forthcoming album 'ZOA'.

The label which is home artists such as Public Enemy, Timo Maas, Fedde le Grande will now be releasing Mason's second album in Australia and New Zealand.

Archie Magliulo, senior A&R at the label mentioned he was "Really excited to be working on the new Mason Album! The guys never cease to amaze with their clever and forward thinking approach to their productions". We say the man's got good taste.

Mason is set to leave for a short Australian tour in September.

Mason featuring Rouge Mary 'Gotta Have You Back' released this week

Mason release the debut single from their second artist album 'ZOA' this week in the shape of 'Gotta Have You Back'.

This paen of electro-funk features the vocals of Hercules and Love Affair vocalist Rouge Mary. The tune also comes with a premier league selection of remixes from Mighty Mouse, Kraak & Smaak and Beni.

Gotta have You Back has just been played on BBC 6 Music by her loveliness Lauren Laverne as well as being supported by a familiar army of club DJ legends.

The single is released on the 18th August with the album to follow on the 1st September.

Debut release from PACT

Talented new producer PACT makes his debut this week with the release of his 'Hold On' E.P. on Love & Other Records, a sub-label of the famous Toolroom imprint. 

The 3 track E.P. is an introduction into the world of PACT and takes influences from soul, house garage and cinematic music. 

'Hold On' also comes with a remix from "balearic bass' maestro Heliotype which completes this perfect Summer package. 

Expect to hear a lot more from PACT this year.

Mason take San Remo to Sonic Academy

Mason have teamed up with educational website Sonic Academy to demonstrate the creation of their latest single 'San Remo'.

Sonic Academy specialise in providing online tutorials for electronic producers , offering an insight into the tricks of the trade used by the pro's.

Corderoy ready to go with Oakenfold Remix

Rising UK star Corderoy has remixed the legendary Paul Oakenfold's 'Ready Steady Go'.

After releasing 'Kerosene' with the the veteran's Perfecto label Corderoy was then asked to remix the classic record. Of course it was a no brainer for Mr Corderoy.

Mason on Computer Music cover!

Its no secret that Mason are pretty geeky when it comes to their productions.

In this month's edition of Computer Music there's an insight into their World which features a cover mount CD sample pack chock full of their signature sounds and samples.

The sample pack is the result of a lot of hard work playing with weird analogue kit and generally hiding away in a darkened studio for days on end. 

The magazine is out now.

Atalanta produce Volume 2 for Loopmasters

Brighton based down-tempo producer Atalanta has produced a follow up to his successful 'Atalanta Chill Series' for the dons of the sample pack world Loopmasters.

The new artist pack contains a huge selection of Atalanta's trademark sounds, many recorded with vintage live instruments.

Atalanta Chill 2 should become a staple for the sound palette of any aspiring downtempo producer or sound designer.

Mutiny UK & Steve Mac finally sees light of day with Axwell & NEW ID mix!!!

Well, its been three years in the pipeline but BFLF can finally announce the release of 'Feel The Pressure' by house legends Mutiny and Steve Mac.

Its been a long time coming but we have to say, it was worth it; bringing in vocalist Nate James, and finally having the Swedish House Mafia member turn in an awesome remix with his proteges NEW_ID has created a monster.

Finished just in time to tear Miami a new one, you can expect to start hearing this tune everywhere over the next few weeks.

Mason make some Boys Noize

Mason have a track featured on the 5th edition of 'Miami Noize', entitled 'Get Back!'
The 303 heavy acid track was selected by Boys Noize himself for what is the 5th edition of the compilation series.

'Get Back' is among good company as Mason rub shoulders with the likes of UZ, SCNTST, Sinden and Astronomar.

Miami Noize is released Worldwide on the 4th April on BNR.

DryStoneWalls release Charity Record

This week sees the launch of a record we have been working on for charity. Its been great working on something for a good cause and with 'I Can Count On You' by Big Fish Little Fish producers DryStoneWalls. With its moody downtempo electronic vibe I think we have one of the coolest charity tunes heard for a while.

The track features the vocals of Danielle Rowe and has been made in support of EACH ( East Anglia's Children's Hospices - www.each.org.uk), a children's hospice in East Anglia. The charity is supported by Specsavers and Big Fish Little Fish have been working closely with the national company to make this happen.

PACT visits the 'Beachouse' in Miami

Young Brightonian PACT has his second release on Toolroom Records this week with his new track 'Beachouse', an ode to poolside chilling and generally taking things easy.

Beachouse features the sublime vocals of Alice Amelia, a long time PACT collaborator and features on the brand new Toolroom Miami compilation alongside some serious company the like of Breach, MK, Waze & Odyssey and Mark Knight.

In the meantime PACT prepares to launch his first E.P. on Toolroom as well as spending time remixing the forthcoming Balearic monster that is Heliotype's 'Saying Nothing'.

Mason are Herd On The Scene

Mason release another cracking double A-side release on their Animal Language label this week.

'Savantas'/'Herd On The Scene' are two very different and original club workouts that have so far gained support from the likes of Brodinski, Digitalism, Groove Armada and Fedde Le Grande. The package also contains one of their most random 'Refurbs' to date. Well worth a listen.

Mason are currently locked in the studio finishing their second album as well as numerous collaborations with an array of interesting acts and vocalists. More news on that soon.

PACT remixes David Penn for Toolroom

Brighton based new face PACT has remixed David Penn's latest release for the mighty Toolroom Records.

PACT's garage inspired leanings have turned this tech houser into a huge deep groove of a tune.

In the meantime PACT gets ready to release his own E.P. via Toolroom records and is finishing off some stunning new records from the privacy of his bedroom.
